General Education Policy

How general educational information is provided and what it does not include.

Effective Date: August 13, 2026

Your Family Legacy may provide videos, articles, checklists, definitions, examples, webinars, orientation sessions, and other educational materials. These resources provide broad information for general educational purposes. They are not individualized recommendations and do not account for every customer's family, property, state, tax situation, capacity, benefits, debts, business interests, or goals.

Permitted general education

  • Explaining, at a high level, that wills and revocable living trusts are different planning tools.
  • Defining common terms in neutral, non-recommendatory language.
  • Showing where platform features, tutorials, status indicators, and general instructions are located.
  • Providing general reminders that documents may require signatures, witnesses, notarization, recording, delivery, maintenance, or trust funding.
  • Suggesting questions a customer may wish to ask an attorney, tax professional, financial professional, recorder, notary, or other qualified person.

Education does not include

  • Telling a customer which Plan Package, document, distribution, fiduciary, beneficiary, or answer to choose.
  • Applying a rule to a customer's personal facts or predicting a result.
  • Interpreting Generated Documents or deciding whether they are valid, enforceable, complete, or appropriate.
  • Giving individualized tax, benefits, asset-protection, Medicaid, financial, investment, insurance, or real-estate advice.
  • Reviewing customer responses or documents and approving them.

Educational content may become outdated as rules and platform features change. Customers should verify current requirements and seek independent professional advice for individualized questions. No educational statement guarantees a result.
